What is Rosacea?
In most people, the first sign of rosacea is a persistent redness of the face, particularly on the cheeks and nose. This redness is caused by enlarged blood vessels under the skin of the face and looks like a blush or sunburn.
Without being treated, the redness gradually becomes worse and more noticeable, facial skin may become very dry.
Hot flushes and watery eyes are early signs of rosacea.
What causes Rosacea?
The cause of rosacea is unknown, but many studies have found many lifestyle factors could trigger rosacea including: bacteria, mites, a malfunction of connective tissue, extreme heat (sun exposure), alcohol, spicy foods etc. other factors such as heredity, skin colour and skin texture contribute to rosacea flair up’s.
